Mid-Term Housing vs. Short-Term Housing… What it Means in New Orleans:

Mid-term housing… what is it? “Mid term rentals” are furnished, fully equipped, all-inclusive housing – just like Airbnb – but for a month or longer.

There’s no doubt New Orleans is a tourist favorite, but even if the party never ends… sometimes our visitors are here to work, trying to relocate, visiting for medical treatments, or enjoying digital nomad life.

New Orleans has become Airbnb, VRBO fatigued. Over the last decade, neighborhoods have been “gentrified” and the fabric of life and cost of living has changed for locals. Much of that has to do with investors from out of town buying, then enjoying the vacation rental income, while suffering none of the consequences.

Locally, the rules have changed. New Orleans has tightened the requirements for “short term rental” licenses in the city, and some owners, now unable to get approved, (or renewed), have turned to offering their furnished units as “mid term rentals.”

Anything longer than 30 days is no longer a vacation stay, and locals prefer this unique kind of visitor because they will truly “live” in New Orleans and have neighbors, and understand what it’s like to have to live in a place that never sleeps!

If you need a furnished apartment, condo or home for a month, three months, a year, even… we’ve got you covered.

We can work with you to set up a lease on a month-to-month or mid-term arrangement, and we do it all the time.

If you’re a “mid-term” rental seeker, just give us a call or fill out the Inquiry Form on the right. We will find the perfect place for your unique circumstance, and welcome you as our new neighbor – even if just for a little while.
